The first thing you’ll notice as a standout about this product is that it actually has a cool, well-designed label very different from the hokey, over the top cartoonish stuff that seem to dominate the packaging of most hydroponics nutrient supplements these days. BioRoot is billed as a “Root Booster,” and it’s makers recommend using in conjunction with General Organics BioThrive Grow and Bloom. What are the magic ingredients? Plant and mineral based organic acids along with humates. What are humates? These are organic compounds containing a large percentage of humic acids – in other words, stuff that normally composes much of the organic makeup of soil and even various water environments like streams and lakes. This organic soup encourages friendly microbes for your plants’ roots. Their product description doesn’t really mention any use for hydroponics, but it’s been used favorable in hydro systems, and we’re guessing General Hydroponics sort of assumes that we’ll know all of their stuff can be used from hydro, given the company’s name.
